Chase Harvey
(2002, SC) is a composer-performer-filmmaker whose practice emerges from listening before declaring. Drawing from his queer and rural identities, he shifts the emphasis from visibility to audibility, exploring how listening creates space to witness the fragmented and indirect. Treating sound and moving image as an inseparable language of rhythm, duration, and affect, his electronic compositions envision physical worlds of sound while his film editing operates as musical notation. He is an MFA in Film grad student at CU Boulder and received his BA in Music from Dartmouth College.
