Hallie Mathieu
(1990, MI) is an interdisciplinary artist from Michigan, currently living in Boulder, CO, whose work alters the accepted rules of everyday life by stretching the familiar into poetic, abstract, and relatable forms for new contemplation. In previous collaborative work he has set up the Watch of Loss and Reparations office in Grand Rapids, MI to calculate the immeasurable loss of gentrified communities, accessed open source traffic cameras to release a password for an online performance piece, and was the Public Projects Manager for ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI where he set up large scale public art pieces. He received his BFA in Visual and Critical Studies from Grand Valley State University in 2018 and is currently pursuing an MFA in Ceramics from CU Boulder.
